Learning is something children do.
Step inside LGM and you'll see children choosing work, concentrating deeply, moving with purpose, helping one another, caring for their environment, and discovering what they can do for themselves.
A day built around discovery.
The Montessori classroom is active without needing to be rushed. At different moments, you may see one child completely absorbed in a material, another working beside a friend, a teacher quietly introducing a new lesson, and an older child helping a younger classmate.
Children have freedom within a thoughtfully prepared environment. They learn when to choose. When to ask for help. When to keep trying. When to work with someone else. And when they are ready to move on. This is learning in practice.
“Watch me work.”
One of the most powerful changes that happens as children develop independence is simple:
They begin wanting to do things for themselves.
Read the Watch Me Work StoryAt LGM, we make space for that.
Children learn to select materials, begin their work, concentrate, solve problems, complete what they started, and return materials when they are finished. What can look like a small classroom routine is actually building something much larger.
Growing the whole child.
Children bring much more than their academic ability into a classroom. They bring personalities, interests, emotions, cultures, questions, strengths, and challenges. Our work is to nurture all of it. At LGM, children have opportunities to grow academically while also learning how to:
The result is an education that prepares children not simply to know more, but to become more capable.
A community where children can see themselves.
LGM has always been connected to the community around it. Our families come from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, and children have the opportunity to grow within an environment where those differences are part of everyday life.
For us, belonging means more than being welcomed through the door. It means being known. Being respected. Being able to participate. And knowing there is room for who you are.
Families are part of LGM, too.
A child's school experience is stronger when families and educators know one another and have opportunities to participate in the life of the school. Throughout the year, LGM creates opportunities for families to connect with their children's learning, their teachers, and one another. That involvement helps turn a school into a community.
Parent Activity Group
Our Parent Activity Group, or PAG, gives LGM families another way to participate in school life and help strengthen our community. Through family involvement, school activities, shared experiences, and connection, PAG helps families play an active role in the community their children experience every day.
